Seismic Sequels in the Himalayas
The 1905 Kangra Earthquake cost the lives of
nearly 30,000 people. In October 2005, barely months
after its centennial, another quake
hit
the heavily populated Kohistan
region
to the north-west of Kangra, resulting in more than
80,000 deaths. The northern subcontinent is
at risk from great Himalayan earthquakes in the future. The
